Universities
University of Pretoria
There are three universities in Pretoria, each with its own faculties and areas of specialisation that prepare young adults for the working world. The University of Pretoria is popular among students who go on to study towards their Masters and PhD. There are nine faculties here, with the most popular being law, humanities, engineering, education and veterinary science. The university was established in 1920 and is home to approximately 39,000 students.
Tshwane University of Technology
For a more "hands-on" university experience, there are two Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) campuses situated in the Pretoria suburbs of Arcadia and Soshanguve.
